HOW IT WORKS
There are three individual techniques that some systems use on their own to target specific ways to sanitize the water. Here is a quick overview of each component:
- UV systems sanitize the water using shortwave light to neutralize organic contaminants like bacteria, viruses, and other nasty germs and even neutralize some chlorine-resistant microorganisms.
- Ozone systems use Ozone (O3) to destroy microorganisms, along with chemicals like chloramines and nitrogen compounds.
- Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) systems combine UV and ozone to produce hydroxyl radicals (•OH) that sanitize faster than ozone and quickly oxidize without lingering smells or harmful residuals.
