The Neptune product line can now power pumps from small to large residential pools
ST. LOUIS, MO – July 12, 2023 – Pool contractors and service companies can now offer residential customers a complete line of energy-saving Neptune® pump motors, with the addition of a 3.45 HP designed for larger pools. The Neptune line from Nidec/U.S. MOTORS® features variable speed motors with integrated controls for energy efficiency and easy operation.
Designed to operate almost all brands of North American pumps for in-ground residential pools, the Neptune replacement motors are easy to install, with no complex wiring required. The motors comply with the latest requirements from the Department of Energy and California Energy Commission (which New York recently adopted), providing 80 percent or greater motor and control efficiency when operating at full speed.
When replacing an old single speed pump motor with a Neptune variable speed motor, pool customers can keep their properly functioning pump and quickly upgrade it into a much more energy-efficient product. Another customer bonus is that the motor is designed for quiet operation when programmed for slower speeds, adding to the serenity of the backyard pool experience. Sound levels are much reduced compared to a single speed motor.
The Neptune variable speed motor is easy to install and program. A Quick Start guide underneath the lid provides step-by-step instructions to ensure customers save energy and properly filter the pool. The Neptune comes with a factory installed run schedule which allows the unit to function after simply setting the time of day. Up to seven different daily schedules can be programmed, offering pool owners flexibility and the ability to save energy when the pool is not in regular use. Neptune motors are also designed to communicate and operate with a variety of external system controllers in addition to the onboard user interface.
The Neptune provides rugged construction for longer life. The enclosure is finned aluminum that provides a water ingress protection level of IPX5, which helps achieve a longer field life in outdoor environmental conditions. To pass the IPX5 test, a water hose must be sprayed onto the motor from all directions with no water getting inside the motor.
